Morecambe Brass Academy

The Brass Academy is for anyone, of any age, who is interested in learning to play a brass instrument. As students improve they are then encouraged to start the progression through the organisation, integrating into the Youth Band, the Ensemble and eventually the Senior Band.

Brass Academy Tutors

The Academy has four tutors who teach on a one-to-one basis in the Association’s purpose built bandrooms. All tutors are CRB checked. Instruments are provided.

Brass Band Lessons

All lessons take place on Saturday mornings, arranged around the Academy Band, which takes place mid morning. This is a forty minute session when all the students join together to learn how to play as a band. This can be a fun time with students not only learning from the tutors, but also each other!

End of Term Event

At the end of each term we hold a coffee morning where the students learn what it is like to play for a small audience, usually very proud relatives and friends! The sense of achievement at these events is great for both students and tutors alike, and a good opportunity to socialise.

When, Where and What!

The Academy runs on Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm, during school term time. The price of a session is £6 per week as from January 2012, payable on a term to term basis i.e. a twelve week term is £72, payable at the start of the term. This fee includes the use of brass instrument, a twenty minute individual lesson and a forty minute band session.

For more details or if you wish to join the Academy please contact the band. We look forward to meeting you!

If you are unable to attend your lesson please contact your tutor on the above number as soon as possible.
